Hi, I am Irene Matejka (pronounced Mat-ay-ka). My creative journey began in Hungary, where I was born and studied Fine Art, and Commercial Merchandising before my husband, Steven and I arrived in Australia. After a precious time of raising our family, I was inspired to reconnect with my creative roots. I began painting abstract art in 2014 and completed my Interior Decorating studies at Mercer School of Interior Design in 2017.
 
Visual art is critical in my designs; I believe the purpose of it should be more than just a decorative element in a room. It should inspire a visual symphony with the rest of the home decor and have a special meaning and connection to the people who occupy the space. This is my driving passion as an interior stylist and artist.
